ABOUT THIS PRODUCT

This rare vintage shabby Bates Cut Velvet Bedspread still has its old cloth tag attached and the original handwriting that reads "Double" in cursive. These bedspreads are almost impossible to find in any condition now, and this one offers an elusive colorway in rich, warm yellow-golds with hints of olive in the right light.

Bates vintage velvet bed coverings were known for their outstanding quality, and this one does not disappoint, featuring seamed construction and exquisite detailing. There is long coordinating gold fringe along the drop sides - I'm not sure if this is original or added later; it belonged to my late mother and has been present as long as I can recall.

The color is challenging to capture, so I've taken photos in many different settings to show what a color chameleon this amazing bedspread is. Very heavy fabric, and the accent fringe is substantial as well.
