Up for sale is an original vintage Ideal Model 55 slider-style coin-operated vending machine, branded for Squirt soda. These slider machines were a fixture at gas stations, diners, and general stores through the 1950s-60s
Features:
- Cream/yellow cabinet with chrome corner trim
- Front porcelain-style "Drink Squirt / never an after-thirst" sign panel with the classic red splash logo and lemon graphic
- Includes coin mechanism marked "10¢ - ONE DIME OR TWO NICKELS" with bent-coin return
- Untested condition due to power cord which needs replacement.
- Built-in bottle opener door
- Bottle cap catcher along the base
- Side panel retains an older Squirt Boy decal with heavy, authentic crackle/alligatoring - great patina and a nice look at Squirt's earlier branding
- MISSING BOTTLE RACK SLIDER ASSEMBLY
LOCK ON COIN MECHANISM HAS BEEN DRILLED OUT STILL WORKS WITH A SCREWDRIVER (see last photo)
Condition: Sold as-is. True vintage/original condition: chipped and flaking paint, surface rust in spots, service tag still attached to the side. Working order is unknown/untested - coin mechanism and any refrigeration/dispensing function have not been verified.
This pop machine is a great candidate for a restoration project or as a display piece in your man cave or retro decor as-is for its patina and American history.
