ABOUT THIS PRODUCT

Antique William George Jordan 3-Book Lot - Early 1900s New Thought / Self-Help

This lot includes 3 antique hardcover titles by William George Jordan (1864-1928), the American editor, lecturer, and essayist known as a pioneer of the modern self-help genre. His works on self-discipline, individuality, and personal mastery were hugely influential in the early New Thought and self-improvement movements, predating Dale Carnegie and Napoleon Hill by decades.

Titles Included:

1. The Crown of Individuality - decorative embossed green cloth hardcover
2. Self-Control: Its Kingship and Majesty - decorative embossed blue cloth hardcover (binding/spine wear, first several pgs detached)
3. The Kingship of Self-Control - smaller gilt-decorated hardcover edition (significant wear to spine, which is mostly missing)

Condition

All three are antique/vintage hardcovers, in fair used condition, consistent with books over 100 years old. Please review photos closely - see notes above, also note typical wear for the age (shelf wear, edge wear, foxing/toning). No dust jackets present. Sold as-is, as a complete lot.

Jordan's books are considered foundational texts in the American self-help and New Thought tradition, and the decorative Art Nouveau-style cloth bindings from this era are popular with collectors of antique motivational/inspirational literature. \
